BLF launched in Chiephobozou
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The NSLRM Chiephobozou Block, Kohima launched the Block Level Federation (BLF) on March 16 at Nerhe Model Village Council Hall, with all the 21 Village Level Organizations under Chiephobozou Block in participation.
Keynote address was delivered by Seyiekhrielie Rio (BDO), who pointed out that the block level federation identifies and provides guidance and support on various issues which cannot be addressed by the village level organization. The BLF will facilitate the funds through the bank linkages, convergence, member institutions and other sources.
Assistant District Programme Manger (ADPM) Kohima District, Keneivole Mejura said that BLF is designed to serve as a platform for larger collective action required for the promotion of livelihoods, monthly meetings, identifies various trainings needs of community members and staff and implements such activities and social development of the households. She further said that BLF is a secondary level of federation where all village level organization is its member and an umbrella organization representing the entire poor household in the block.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kewekote said that all the village level organization must register under the labour department in order to avail the benefits that are being provided through the schemes.
