C-Edge College NSS conducts special camp

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): The C-Edge College NSS team organised and conducted its annual special camp at its adopted village, Loyir Village in New Showuba from October 25 to 27 with the theme ‘Not me but you.’

A press release from the college stated that a total of 15 students participated along with Ikaito, College NSS Nodal Officer and Kumrila, Assistant Professor of Education Department as the Camp Director. 

The Camp comprised of special presentation and discussion session with various special resource persons starting with Jangpuh Kihomong, Head Master, Bethel Baptist School who presented on the vital topic of 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

The camp also featured a session with Dr Nepuni Athikho, senior consultant - palliative care and family medicine, CIHSR who presented on the concept of Palliative care. A topic on Mental Health issues were also discussed with Inaholi, specialist from CIHSR.

As part of the social activity, the NSS volunteers visited an orphanage located at the village premises, where plant samplings were planted. The plantation drive continued at the camp location too. A session on life skills were also taught to the volunteers during the two days special camp. A friendly volleyball match was played between the Loyir village youth and the C-Edge College students as part of the camp activity.
