Dimapur, December 23 (MExN): As Nagaland gets ready to celebrate Christmas, scores of houses have been burnt and three people killed in two villages of Mon district - Yakshu and Yangkhao village. The cold chilly winter adds more to the misery of the fire victims.
The Naga Blog members on facebook have come together with the help of noobs (Nagaland Open Online Barter or Sell) to collect cash and kind from all concerned citizens of Nagaland. The online groups have set up two collection points - Popular Bakery, P.R. Hill Kohima and PS23 Cyber Cafe Dimapur so that people who wish to donate to the cause can walk in to these contact points and hand over their donations. Those unable to go to these points can contact Imna Longkumer (Ph - 9436006210) for Dimapur and Victor Dzüvichü (Ph - 8974932651) for Kohima. The collection points will be open till December 25 noon.
Within a day of starting the campaign, the groups have managed to collect around 53 blankets, 4 bags of second hand clothes, a good number of warm clothes and cash from concerned citizens. The Relief Team of The Naga Blog led by Yanpvuo Kikon, Peter Rutsa, Menuolhoulie Kire, Victor Dzüvichü and other members have planned to head for Mon with the relief supplies on December 26 early morning.
The team has informed that they need more vehicles for transport as the number of clothes and blankets are piling up and request anyone willing to travel with the team in their 4X4, boleros etc at their own expense, or willing to donate fuel can contact The Naga Blog administrators on facebook. The huge community of young Naga bloggers with the support of our Eastern family, the ENSF and KSU wish to make this Christmas a meaningful one, fostering the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
