Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): An awareness campaign on conservation of forest & environment was held at Patkai Christian College, Chümoukedima on March 8 organised by Nagaland Zoological Park, Dimapur in collaboration with Department of Philosophy, Patkai Christian College.
The programme was held with an aim to provide enhanced learning experience for the students of Philosophy Department as part of their skill paper- environment philosophy.
Husazo Epao, Principal, Patkai Christian College expressed gratitude to the Department for organising such an important programme.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Prabhat Kumar, IFS, Director, Nagaland Zoological Park, highlighted the students on the importance of forest and wildlife and the relation between the two. He discussed the threats and challenges that Nagaland faces for conservation of forest and environment. The Director urged the students to take proactive part in conservation by being trend setters for the same.
Lansothung Lotha, RFO, Baghty, briefed on “Biodiversity: A Nagaland Perspective”. He presented a critical assessment on environmental issues in Nagaland and encouraged the students to be more concerned for conservation.
