Kohima, April 8 (MExN): The Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) on Wednesday requested all Catholic families to celebrate the Holy Week and Tridium in their respective homes starting Good Friday, April 10.
Stating that the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented gatherings to celebrate the Holy Week and Tridium(Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday), CAN President Johnny Ruangmei requested all Catholic families to gather and sing the song “The Old Rugged Cross” at 4:00 pm on Good Friday.
On Easter Sunday, it requested all families are requested to sing “Halleluiah He is risen” at 9:00 am. It also requested “all the Parishes in the Diocese of Kohima to ring the church bell symbolizing the triumph of Christ over sin and death (in the present context, symbolizing victory of Christ over Novel Corona Virus),” it said.
Further, Can entrusted Priests, Clergies and Nuns working in the Diocese of Kohima to offer prayers during the Holy Eucharistic Celebration for healing of the sick especially those afflicted by novel corona virus across the world and also for protection for the people of Nagaland and the world.
