Can Youth educates trainees on livelihood opportunity

Mon, February 5 (MExN): Awareness Session on Entrepreneur and Livelihood opportunity for the trainees at the ongoing food processing training in Mon town was held on February 5.


It was organized by Can Youth in collaboration with District Administration Mon and KNSK, supported by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).


The resource persons were Khusboo Rai, Manager SBI Bazaar Branch Mon, Zuben, Inspector DIC Mon, C Yaloi, Area Coordinator, Livelihood Mon Block, Chumben Kithan HO, Horticulture Department Mon and Nonile Apon, Watershed Development Team Member, Land Resources Department Mon.


Rai shared ideas on how to avail loan for setting up business and highlighted about Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) scheme and the documents required to avail the loan, a press release from Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary, Can Youth stated.


Zuben shared about business, especially for women, how to be a good entrepreneur and the qualities required.
He also taught on how to make pickle, green tea etc and also on forest and textile sector.


Yaloi shared how their department had helped several women through training on nutritional garden and mushroom cultivation.


Chumben Kithan gave awareness on certain schemes available in his department and benefits of the scheme.
Nonile Apon conducted an ice breaking activity where the trainees were asked to sell yam to the audience. She also shared about cultivation of coffee and the benefits of drinking coffee. She gave ideas on how to avail the coffee seeds from land resource department.
