Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): The Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) and Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) today said that they are presently unable to formally extend cooperation to the Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC), citing separate organisational constraints.
In a joint press statement issued after acknowledging an invitation from the NFHRCC for its upcoming meeting on matters related to the Foothill Road project, the organisations clarified their respective positions.
The statement said unresolved issues presently exist between the apex body of the WSH, the Sümi Hoho, and the NFHRCC. “Until such matters are amicably resolved between the concerned parties, the WSH finds itself unable to formally extend cooperation to the Committee at this juncture,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the CPO clarified that while there exists no conflict or disagreement with the NFHRCC, it remains bound by the guidance and directives of its apex body, the Angami Public Organisation (APO). As such, the organisation is presently constrained from extending formal cooperation “until further directives are received from the parent body.”
The organisations stated that they “deeply appreciate the importance of the Foothill Road initiative” and recognised its significance for the welfare, connectivity and economic progress of the people of Nagaland. They also conveyed goodwill towards the efforts undertaken by the NFHRCC in pursuing the project.
The WSH further expressed hope for “a positive understanding and peaceful resolution in the greater interest of unity and progress.”
Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining cordial relations, mutual respect and constructive dialogue with all concerned organisations, while expressing hope that pending matters would be resolved “in a spirit of understanding, cooperation and collective responsibility for the betterment of the people.”
