Wokha, November 28 (MExN): The department of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), Wokha organized one day awareness programme on capacity building on basic fire fighting and its prevention on November 28 at Town Hall, Wokha.
It was stated in a DIPR report that ADC, Wokha Mhathung Tsanglao, addressing the participants called upon the gathering to be very cautious while handling with fire because it can lead to loss of life, property and even effect environment. In times of any fire related incidents, he urged the public to always extend support and give unobstructed space to the personnel’s of fire tenders so that they can perform their responsibilities from causing further damage.
Asst. Station Officer, F&ES, Wokha briefed on the basic of fire, its prevention control and life safety measures. He also stressed on how to properly install fire extinguishers at a place which are easily visible and accessible to be used in times of emergency. He also highlighted about the types of extinguishers, operations and usage, care and maintenance.
ASI, F&ES, Wokha also apprised about the fire safety guidelines and DO’S & DON’TS, Call and inform Fire Services immediately as and when Fire breaks out.
The function was chaired by SDO (C) Chonpenthung Ezung while vote of thanks was proposed by OC F&ES, T. Vihoto Chisho. Later demonstration by Fire & Emergency Services and use of fire extinguisher was also shown to the general public at police point.
