Cast your valuable votes without any fear: NDPP urges

Kohima, November 2 (MExN): As the campaigning comes to a close in the bye-elections to the 14-Southern Angami-I Assembly Constituency, the NDPP today urged the electorates to come out and “cast their valuable votes without any fear and contribute towards a successful election process.”

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) also appealed to all sections, especially the election officials, law enforcing agencies, the administration and police, community leaders and village councils, members of political parties, church leaders and all stakeholders to make every possible effort to ensure that polling takes place in true democratic spirit.

Meanwhile, a press release from the Party President Chingwang Konyak also extended appreciation to the electorate of the constituency for the support and solidarity with the Party and its leadership

The people have responded in a tremendous manner to our Star Campaigners led by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and the Party Candidate, Medo Yhokha, it maintained.

The NDPP further claimed that the Party strictly adhered to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and abided by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) required due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NDPP has carried out a responsible campaign in an ethical and mature manner, it said, adding that at no point of time has any “NDPP leader made personalised attacks on our political rivals” and it remained committed to serve the all sections in an equitable manner under the guiding principles of the Party’s motto, “facta non verba”.

It also assured the ECI and the State Election Department continued support to ensure that “the foundations of democracy are further strengthened through free and fair elections, without any semblance of intimidation and fear.”
