Kohima, January 16 (MExN): A new library was blessed and inaugurated at Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) complex at D-Block Kohima on January 13. The library was blessed by Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima which was jointly inaugurated by Dr Neiviselie Simon Duvuchü, President CAN, Elias T Lotha, Former CAN President, Rocus Chaise, first CAN President in the presence of Fathers and CAN executive members. 


During the short inaugural function, Bishop James Thoppil, while invoking God’s blessing upon the new library prayed that the Library may become a source of bringing people together in knowledge and truth. Elias T Lotha speaking on the occasion highlighted that it was a long dream realized by the CAN team. He reiterated that “a library of faith will enable the people of different faith to learn and unlearn ideas and correct the wrong learning.”  Fr Richard Fernandez prayed the invocation for the program and   


Simon Duvuchü in his welcome note thanked the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Government of India for funding the establishment of the library.  He recalled the generosity and thoughtfulness of the past office bearers to establish a library for the people. He acknowledged the tireless effort of his colleagues in executing the work with good workmanship. 


Marcus Kasho, Vice President CAN anchored the programme. 
“The CAN library will be made accessible to the knowledge seekers in the near future with an official notification from the CAN office,” Fr Renthungo Victor, Secretary to Bishop stated in a press release.
