Celebrate Tokhü Emong with ‘forgiveness and solidarity’

The Lotha community in Kohima celebrated Tokhü Emong at Longsa Yimki, Minister's Hills Kohima on November 7.
Mhonbemo Ngullie, IFS Addl PCCF (Territorial) in his address urged the Lotha community to celebrate the festival in the truest sense of forgiveness and solidarity.
Reminding the gathering to celebrate the festival with a positive approach, Ngullie encouraged the young generation to promote the importance of mother tongue and preservation of culture and traditions. Ngullie advised the youth to uphold one's heritage with hard work and honesty, and the practices of the forefathers' cultural values and heritage. Ngullie also stressed on the importance of preserving and carrying forward one's rich tradition and culture to the young generation.
Speaking on the significance of Tokhü Emong, A. Zanbemo Ngullie, Director, Urban Development, states that Tokhü Emong is a “festival of thanks-giving, sharing and reconciliation” where the community must strive for cooperation and peaceful-time coexistence of the community, and to further build positive contributions to the society.
The festival in Kohima also witnessed cultural songs and competition.
