Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): The Chang Gazetted Officers Association (CGOA) held its 21st general session at DUDA Guest House, Kohima on October 5 which was hosted by Kohima based Chang officers.
A press note received here informed that the session was graced by Kejong Chang, Advisor GBs, DBs and VGOs as guest of honour. The speakers during the programme were, Raj Verma (Bongsochu Chang) Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Y. Among, Additional Director, Art and Culture and Ato Chang, Redt SDPO.
The speakers mainly highlighted on the subject of the responsibility of a government officer in discharging their duties effectively, helping fellow members in all capacity and to help maintain cultural identity. Kejong Chang said that Chang has a unique features which others don’t have, for example by a person’s name his/hers clan can be identified; therefore we should take pride in our cultural heritage. He also said that Chang played a major role in various fields, like religion and political establishment. Tribal hoho formation was also first formed at Tuensang.
The programme was chaired by N. Imti, Vice President CGOA. Invocation was made by Anungla, Pastor Chang Baptist Lashong, Kohima followed by introduction of members. Presidential address was delivered by S.Y Sanglee, President CGOA. Obituary reference was conducted by Imti, Accounts Officer, Tourism. Rendition of Confederation of Chang Students Union Anthem was presented by the Chang College Student’s Union Kohima (CCSUK).
