Changsang Range Students’ Union celebrates 50 years

Tuensang, January 11 (MExN): Changsang Range Students’ Union (CRSU) celebrated its 50 years golden jubilee under the theme “Achievement through the power of unity” at Sangsangyo EAC headquarters, Tuensang from January 8 to 10.

 


Special guest T Kejong, MLA spoke on the main theme. Sifferent student representatives of the villages under the range, former leaders, church leaders and elders etc took part in the event.

 


W Anti Mangyang, advocate, Tuensang; L Impüng Chang, SDPO, Longleng; L Ongmang, pastor, Yungkük Baptist Church spoke on different themes such as “Re-orient priorities,” “Honouring our past: creating our future” and “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

 


As per a press release received here, seminars on topics such as brief introduction on competitive exams, central service or examination, motivational speech-experience in competitive exams, career guidance on academics and career guidance on professional courses were conducted by BY Choba, SDPO, Mokochung; I Bunglang, Dy SP (R), Tuensang; N Chullen, Assistant Controller, LM&CP, Tuensang; Antitola, Vice Principal, GHSS Thangjam, Tuensang and Wongto Chingmak, Agri Officer, Tuensang respectively.

 


The release said that CRSU is comprised of seven Chang villages. On the third day of the event, a friendship volleyball tournament was organised. Sangsangyo Students’ Union defeated Konya Students’ Union in the final.
Kumar Ramnikant, Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, president CCSU, leaders from different fields from the range, advisors, founding members also present spoke in the three-day event. O Changsang, Esther Lemla, Mongko Chollen and W Ason were the chairpersons and recorders for the entire event.

 


A talent night was held on the final day where Rockamentia, a band from the district took the stage.

 


Keshai Students’ Union led the opening ceremony meanwhile, Changsang Band, Hakchang village led the closing ceremony.
