In this image taken recently, trucks are seen transporting boulders extracted from the Chathe River at Ruzaphema, Dimapur. Largely unregulated sand and boulder mining in the rivers running through Dimapur district has not only intensified soil erosion but also endangered riverine eco-system and infrastructure.
