The Christian Workers' Movement of Archdiocese of Bombay thanks and compliments the efforts of Archdiocese of Nagpur for making it as a mission of the church. Farmers are sons and daughters of the soil that helps in bringing in growth and prosperity to the nation, but it is sadly noticed that around 4,427 farmers of the state committed suicide in the past decade. This effort of the Church will help the farming families to also take up another alternate employment which will help them when crisis occurs again.
The Archdiocese of Nagpur must look into opening alternate employment schemes like making different kinds of household items which could be put to sale in flourishing neighboring Dioceses like Pune, Mumbai, Goa etc. either during the parish feasts and other occasions that will promote sale to these struggling farmers. This will be encouragement to the people involved in farming families and individuals of Archdiocese of Nagpur.
