Tuensang, March 25 (MExN): Following the lockdown order in response to COVID-19, the association of four churches- Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen (CBLT), Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA), United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimkhong (USBLA) and Yimchungrü Baptist Boru Amukhungto (YBBA) participated in a meeting initiated by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang at DC conference room on March 24.
In the meeting, the four churches association’s executive secretaries along with the district administration and apex bodies of the four tribes adopted the following resolutions:
1. The churches under these four churches association will not meet with effect from March 25 until further notice. This includes seminars, workshop, revival, weddings and even worship services.
2. The church door will remain open for anyone to go and pray. However, going in groups will be restricted and also the distance be maintained inside the church while spending time in prayer.
3. Every Wednesday and Saturday evening, Sunday devotional service and any other women and youth worship, as per our own specified timing, the church will ring the bell. Every believer is asked to begin their prayer and worship in their own respective homes as they hear the bell.
4. As per the directives of the Association and the local church leadership, the believers will continue to worship in their homes and pray without ceasing.
A statement from the ES of CBLT said that the situation calls for faith in action and that by not meeting, they are not ceasing their devotion to God, and appealed to be united in prayer.
