Medziphema, August 11 (MExN): Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, Medziphema, in collaboration with Department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland conducted a webinar on “Atmanirbhar Krishi through holistic growth of the horticulture sector in north-eastern India” which was held on August 8 through Google Meet.
The objective of the webinar was aimed to develop the overall understanding on self-reliance and sustainability through various horticultural interventions, stated a press release.
Dr BNS Murthy, Horticulture Commissioner, GoI, was invited as the chief guest for the webinar and Anenla T Sato, IAS, Commissioner & Secretray Horticulture, GoN, was the special guest.
Dr NK Patle, Dy Commissioner DAC & FW cum Director incharge CIH was as the moderator of the programme. The speakers were Dr RE Lotha, Director Horticulture GoN, Dr SS Roy, Senior Scientist, ICAR Manipur Centre, Dr Sunila Kumari, Founder & Chairperon, Dragon Flora Farms LLP, Pune and Dr BJ Brahma, Director, SFAC.
The participants included horticulture officers, faculty staffs and scientists from various institutes and departments, FPOs, entrepreneurs, farmers from all over North East States.
