•-Through this column, I would like to seek clarification from the Health and Family Welfare department (H&FW deptt). As per the government service rules, a doctor has to serve for a minimum of 2 years in the government service to be eligible to undergo post graduation course/specialization. The department should issue clarification to the public, on why this rule is followed strictly in some years and at the same time not following it on other years. These doctors who had not serve a minimum of compulsory 2 years government service and undergoing post graduation/specialization should either choose between government service or specialization, for one cannot have both of it as per the government service rules. If these doctors want to continue with their specialization, then they should surrender their government post, so that deserving doctors can apply for it and serve the public at large. Moreover the Health and Family welfare department should not apply the above mention government rules whenever they liked it and at their own convenience for it will set a bad precedence. It's a humble to the Naga Student Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Naga Student Federation (ENSF) to seriously take up the matter with the concern department
