CM, Dy CM, RSU mourn demise of CE Yhusinlo Tep

Kohima, November 2 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed sadness on the demise of Er Yhunsinlo Tep, Chief Engineer (CE), PHED Nagaland who passed away on November 1 in Kohima.


Er Tep entered Government service in 1987. He served the Department and the Government of Nagaland in various capacities till the time he breathed his last. Upon promotion, he took over as Chief Engineer of the PHE Department on February 1, 2019. He also served as the President of the Association of Public Heath Engineers Nagaland (APHEN) from 2012-2014. “In my interactions with him on a number of occasions, I found him to be a capable officer and a gentleman with good demeanor. In his demise, the Government and the citizens of the State have lost a capable officer who contributed his best for the welfare of the people,” read a condolence message from Rio.


In this time of sorrow, the Chief Minister on behalf of the Government of Nagaland and on his own behalf extended deepest condolences to all the members of the bereaved family and to the PHED Department. It prayed that the departed soul rest in peace and that “Almighty God” bestow the family with strength and solace as they come to terms with the loss.


Deputy Chief Minister and Nagaland BJP leader, Y Patton also mourned the demise. “Er Yhunsinlo Tep will be remembered as a gentleman committed to his work and the department, whose service towards the Nagaland government and the people will be cherished,” a condolence message from Media Cell, Deputy CMO stated. He shall be remembered as one of the finest and capable officer that the Department had. At this time of sorrow, Patton extended deepest condolences to his wife Lily Tep and children, the bereaved family members and the PHED Department and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.


The Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) also expressed deep sadness at the untimely demise. “The sudden demise of Er Yhunsinlo Tep has created a vacuum in the hearts of the Rengmas which will be difficult to replace,” a message from RSU President Kisheto Kent Rengma stated. Tep’s contribution for the welfare of the Rengmas in general and RSU in particular has been immense and uplifting, it added. RSU said he shall be remembered as a sincere and dedicated leader  by the Rengma community at large. The RSU extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers that the departed soul will rest in eternal peace.
