CM requested to reinforce district hospital in Wokha

Wokha, May 7 (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio visited District Hospital Wokha and held meeting with government officials, Lotha Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho and Lotha Students’ Union on May 7.

 

During the meeting, a DIPR report stated that the Lotha Hoho apprised the CM on inspection of the district hospital on April 20 last.

 

It was pointed out that COVID-19 District Hospital in Wokha does not have the required doctors and medical equipments and therefore, requested the CM for immediate replacement of doctors attached to Dimapur and those on study leave. It was stated that the doctors are not posted as per the sanctioned strength for the district for which the Hoho appealed for redressal at the earliest. Lotha Hoho also requested to provide basics medical equipments as per the requirement of the district such as X- ray machine, ventilators, cardiac monitors, thermal scanners and standard PPE.

 

The Chief Minister assured the Hoho to take up the matter at the Government level for deliberation at the earliest.

 

Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Orenthung Lotha who chaired the meeting briefed the house on the preparedness activities undertaken by the District Task Force, medical and police.

 

The CM was accompanied by Dy CM, Home and Minister for R&B Y Patton, Minister, Minister for Rural Development Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs Temjen Imna Along. MLA Dr Chumben Murry also attended the meeting.
