Co-MLAs ‘equally elected,’ BJP Phek reminds Nienu

Phek, February 21 (MExN): The Phek District BJP today issued a statement reminding MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu that “his co-MLAs are all equally elected by the people and are enjoying the mandate of their respective constituencies.”

A statement from its President Nucutso Ruho said it was “compelled” to “clarify some certain points” on the recent speech, purportedly made by MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu during the inaugural session of the 27th Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) meet in Phek town on February 18.

“Nobody should take advantage of a platform such as that of the much revered Chakhesang Wrestling Association to vent out one's frustration and hatred towards any individuals or any organization, because that doesn't augur well and will not serve its  purpose,” the statement read.

The CWA is a platform for promotion of “our rich cultural heritage” that has been passed down through generations and to use such platform to “politicize one's own hidden agenda is very uncalled for,” the party maintained, while adding that “by doing so, the sanctity of the Association will be hampered.”

Nienu's “scathing attacks,” branding the PDA legislators as ‘some very incompetent leaders’ “only goes on to show his immaturity as a leader,” the party held.

Demeaning the personalities of the PDA Legislature “shows his egotistical nature which is very much uncalled for and is not expected from a person of his stature. As a leader, one should respect the sanctity of any social platform and avoid polluting it with one’s selfish motive.”

The party, meanwhile expressed confidence that the PDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton will deliver all round developments.

“The BJP Phek is determined to work cohesively with dedication to promote our people in the right perspectives.”
Meanwhile, it wished all Chakhesang wrestlers the best for the upcoming NWA meet.
