Combined Annual Training Camp in Nagaland underway

Kohima, June 21 (MExN): A Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-29) is being conducted at Sazolie College, Jotsoma by 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima under the aegis of NCC Group HQ from June 20. 

A team of two officers, 26 Instructors, nine Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), two Girl Cadet Instructors (GCIs) and 554 cadets from schools and colleges from all over Nagaland are attending the 10-day long training activity. 

PRO (Defence), Kohima& Imphal in a press release stated that during the conduct of the camp the cadets will be trained in service subjects apart from getting groomed to have a smart military bearing and outlook. A large number of guest lectures will also be held covering various relevant subject like cyber security, food and nutrition, NEDFI etc. 

During the camp an opportunity to know about the SSB Selection Procedure and New Recruitment Procedures in the Armed Forces will have a special focus for the young aspirants seeking career in the Armed Forces, it stated. 

 In addition, military equipment display, Band display, and firefighting display are also scheduled to be held during the conduct of the camp. Cadets will also undergo a series of tests in their skills in firing, cultural programs, tent pitching, extempore elocution, drill, tug of war etc.

Meanwhile, Brig PS Sangwan, Group Commander, NCC Group Kohima visited the ongoing camp and addressed all staffs and cadets present at the camp. 

Brig PS Sangwan highlighted the importance of joining NCC and contribution of the cadets to the society. He also guided the cadets on the Services Selection Board (SSB) procedures to join the Armed Forces as an Officer and explore job opportunities in the government and private sector as well, such as the Aviation industry and Reliance GCS.
