Kohima, November 7 (MExN): In connection with the ongoing 7th Economic Census, the District Level Co-ordination Committee (DLCC) members along with all Charge Officers, Supervisors, IT Nodal Officers and all Wards Chairmen and its representatives held a meeting at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on November 7.
Chairing the meeting, a DIPR report stated that ADC Kohima Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa said that there has been an ongoing 7th Economic Census exercise in the district, an important exercise taken up by the IT Department as the Nodal Department.
She said that with the correct data projected in this exercise would bring benefits to the people of the district therefore the meeting has been convened to reiterate on the ongoing exercise and to be aware of its importance by all the concerned individuals. She said that as per the 2011 Census there were a total number of 54391 households in the district. However, from the ongoing 7th EC exercise carried out so far it has covered only 10690 households with more than 43701 households left to be covered within few days. She further said that it has come to the notice that there has been a lack of coordination between the charge officer, supervisors and enumerators, which is why the ongoing 7th EC exercise has been slow comparing to the other districts. She therefore called upon all the concerned designated officers and wards chairmen to extend all possible help and supports in whatever ways possible without which the survey exercise would not be possible.
Accountant IT&C, Vizelhounuo gave an overview of the ongoing 7th EC exercise where she informed that for this exercise a number of Supervisors, Enumerators have been selected where the Supervisors were the person running the Common Service Centre (CSC) under IT department and a number of Enumerators have been appointed under the Supervisors for the survey which would be verified by the Supervisors. In course of the exercise, she informed that there have been a number of issues in technical and operation areas where the support and coordination of the district administration and the Wards is required and further requested all concerned to assist them for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
The ward chairmen and others also shared their views and suggestions and further assured to extend all possible help for the ongoing exercise in their respective areas.
