‘Community Mandatory Social Work’ in Namsang area from January 18

Dimapur, January 13 (MExN): The Young Namsang Association (YNA) has stated that monthly Community Mandatory Social Work in Namsang area will begin from January 18. 


YNA President, Dr Phongshak Phom and General Secretary, Chingloi Phom in a press release stated that following the resolution adopted in the 2019 midyear meeting of the Young Namsang Association, and subsequently circular dispatched to all the villages under Namsang, the YNA has called “all the Namsang villages to actively do social work in their respective place as per the guideline and time.”


“The monthly Community Mandatory Social Work programme is for three consecutive years subject to revamp or discontinue base on the performances. This has been organised with an aim to create social cohesiveness, recover the forest lost in the last 2-3 decades, activity related to cleanliness, sanitation and taking community ownership by maintaining roads and public properties,” the Association stated. 


YNA also stated that all members of the villages must participate in the “mandatory social work” proposed to do at least three hours from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on the third Saturday of every month. However, the children below 14 years and school goers will be exempted from the social work, it added. 


The YNA office has also requested not to organise any social gathering or programme within Namsang coinciding the social work and further invites all members of the village to co-operate with whatever works the committee is assigned for the cause of this programme.
