Condolences pour in for NDPP Vice President Kakheho Sukhalu

Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): Individuals and political parties have mourned the demise of Kakheho Sukhalu, Ex-MLA, 35 A/C Zunheboto and Vice President of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) who passed away after a prolonged illness on February 21 at Eden Hospital, Dimapur.

 

Deputy CM: Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton said, “Sukhalu was a seasoned politician and an elderly figure who chose to dedicate his life for the service of his people. In his death, Nagas have lost a respectable figure which is a great loss for the whole Naga society.” Patton, on behalf of the state BJP legislators conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased to find eternal peace.

 

Minister, H&TE, Tribal Affairs: “Kakheho Sukhalu was a humble, compassionate and courteous gentleman who always go out of his way to help those in need,” said a condolence message from Temjen Imna Along Minister, Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs. In his death, the people of Nagaland have lost a fine leader who shall be dearly missed, Imna said, while conveying sympathies and condolences to the grieving family. He prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.


Minister, Agriculture & Co-operation: G Kaito Aye said Sukhalu was a “remarkable gentleman, humble, upright and selfless. In his demise, we have lost a young dynamic leader whose positive visions have influenced and changed the lives of many around him and beyond.” The void created by his passing will be impossible to fill but the legacy he has left behind will forever be cherished, a condolence message from Aye stated. He extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the God grant his soul rest in eternal peace. 

 

NPCC: President K Therie said Sukhalu had represented the people of 35-Zunheboto Assembly Constituency and was a youthful leader who worked tirelessly for the upliftment of not only the people he represented but for the people of the state in general, throughout his life. Stating that he had much to contribute to his people, the “irreparable loss is not only to his family but also to the people of the state who have lost a tall and able leader in his prime,” said Therie in a condolence message. All rank and file of NPCC offered condolences to the bereaved families and for the departed soul to rest in peace.

 

NDPP: NDPP President, Chingwang Konyak said he had the opportunity to have closely worked with him during the formation of NDPP and found him to be a “very sincere and dedicated person who seemed to be forever concerned for the upliftment of the society.” Hailing from an illustrious family, he was a “meek, humble and very approachable person liked by young and old who have met him,” a condolence message from Konyak read. In his passing away, the Naga society in general and the NDPP in particular have lost a very efficient and charismatic person, it added. The rank and file of the party joined him in conveying condolences to the bereaved family members.

 

NPP: A condolence message from NPP President, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema and General Secretary (Org) B Limanuksung Longkumer said, “A visionary leader of our times, Kakheho Sukhalu was a man of rare political acumen, courage and immense wisdom. His loss has left a deep void in the political fraternity of Nagaland in particular and the Naga society in general which will be hard to fill in days to come.” At this hour of grief, the NPP offered profound prayers for the departed soul and moral support to the bereaved family members. It prayed that God grant “peace and strength to bear the pain of loss with true Christian love, courage and faith.”
