Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): Condolences and tributes have poured in from several individuals and organizations following the demise of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü who passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai on December 30 morning.
Kripa Foundation: The Kripa Foundation Nagaland extended deepest condolences to late Vikho-o Yhoshü’s wife and his family members. Kripa Foundation and late Yhoshü have associated for the last three decades in recovery program.
The Director and staffs, Kripa Foundation Nagaland in a condolence message stated that late Yhoshü was a remarkable gentleman with humility, a soft-spoken, courageous, open mind and ever willing to help marginalise group of people by sharing his past experiences, pleasant natured and God fearing person.
“We will continue to remember him with respect and admiration of his leadership and contribution to our state, especially in the field of drug and alcoholism recovery program,” the foundation stated.
AYO: The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) in a condolence message has conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family of late Vikho-o Yhoshü at this difficult time. “We mourn with you and celebrate the extraordinary life of this remarkable man who devoted his life for the upliftment and protecting of his people's future. We also pray that God in His merciful grace will grant everlasting rest to the departed soul,” AYO stated in the condolence note.
KDCC: Mourning the demise of NLA Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü, the Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) said that Late Vikho-o Yhoshü was a humble leader with concern for all. The vacuum created by his demise will be difficult to fill. KDCC also conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray to God to grant them solace and strength in this hour of grief and sorrow.
NPCC: The NPCC President K. Therie mourning the demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü said that being one of the first mining engineers amongst the Nagas, he was instrumental in shaping the future of the Geology and Mining Department. As a public leader, he was a sociable yet sincerely responsible leader who always considered the interests of the people as the utmost priority. “I on my own behalf and on behalf of all rank and file of NPCC convey our deepest condolences to you all. It is our prayer that the Grace of the Almighty God be with you and comfort and console you all through this painful hour of parting.” Therie added.
NDPP: The rank and file of the NDPP has expressed shock and sadness on the demise of NLA Speaker, late Vikho-o Yhoshü. The party in a condolence message stated that even in his illness, late Yhoshü tried his best to serve with dedication, integrity and loyalty. NDPP president Chingwang Konyak conveyed that in his demise, the people of Nagaland, the constitution of 14th Southern Angami- 1 A/C and the NDPP have lost a dedicated leader, friend and father figure. NDPP conveyed condolence to the family members while praying that God will grant rest to the leader’s soul.
Noke Wangnao: Advisor, Social Welfare, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Noke Wangnao has expressed deep grief over the demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü. Noke recollected late Yhoshü as a man of honour, one who embodied truth without apologies and a humble leader. His passing away is a great loss not only to his family and to his tribe but to the whole Naga community, he added in a condolence message.
Temjen Imna Along: The Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs and President Nagaland State BJP Unit, Temjen Imna Along in a condolence message stated tat late Vikho-o Yhoshu was a prolific leader who is well known for his humility. “In this moment of intense grief and sorrow, I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved family, and pray for the dearly departed soul to rest in eternal peace,” he prayed.
Azo Nienu: MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, 19th Phek A/C while conveying condolences to the family members of late Vikho-o Yhoshü said, “We have lost another humble soul in the person of Lt Vikho-o Yhoshü Speaker of NLA. We have lost a great leader.”
Neiba Kronu: The Minister for Planning & Co-Ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu remembered late Vikho-o Yhoshü as a wise person, loyal and sincere leader and always ready to serve others. “We have lost a humble soul. I convey my deepest condolence to the bereaved family and may his gentle soul rest in peace,” he added.
