Consumer Right Awareness seminar at Kigwema

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Omega Group in collaboration with the Controller of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Department, Government of Nagaland organized Seminar on Consumer Right Awareness at Multipurpose Hall, Kigwema on January 29. 

The programme was organized and sponsored under the banner of Controller of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Department, Government of Nagaland and Zasitsolie Bio, Advocate, KZ Law Associate, Kohima was the resource person on the topic Consumer Right Awareness, according to a press release. 

During the seminar, the resource person highlighted on various consumer related issues, legal provisions and availability of various Legal Forums at the District, State and National Levels. He also gave special emphasis on various types of goods and services and asked consumers to know the rights and legal protections that are laid for the welfare of consumers. Citing few important instances with regards to Consumer related court verdicts he appealed to the participants to be efficient consumers and to make use of the concerned department and various consumer forums as and when the need arises.

During the Seminar, the Omega Group also gave away a cash award to Kevideno Yakhro and Vimeno Yano for their commendable performances at Government High School Kigwema in HSLC academic year 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 respectively, as part of the Group Annual event.

Earlier, Vilekho Bio chaired the programme while Zakievoto Zakaria, Catechist, St Michael Church Kigwema pronounced the invocation prayer and Ruokuovikho Chale, President (OG) gave the key note address. A special number was presented by Meno Chale and vote of thanks by Zakievilie Yhoshu, President Kigwema Youth Organisation.
