Corrections to certain errors of answer keys to NPSC (Prelim) Examination 2011

With regard to the Answer Keys of the NCS,NPS,NSS and Allied Services (P) Examination 2011 given by the NPSC,vide Notification NO.NPSC/ADVT/NON-TECH/1-2010 dt. 01.08.2011 (NCS Prelims Exam 2011 Scoring Key) in their website www.npsc.co.in,I would like to bring out certain mistakes in the answers they have given specific to Test Booklet Series “B” :
(1)The answer to Q.79 (networks which connects systems within a local area network) was given as option (a) MAN.
A Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) usually spans an entire city or large area interconnecting a number of Local Area Networks (LANs). So MAN cannot be the correct answer. The correct option should have been “(c) LAN”
(2) Q.80.(provision that a democratic constitution does not have) the given answer was option “(d) Name of the country”.
All democratic constitutions have the name of their country in their constitution. For eg. Article 1(1) of the Indian Constitution starts with, “India, that is Bharat...”. The correct option should be “(b) Name of the head of the state”. No democratic political sysytem has a permanent head of state and thus no name of the head of the state in its constitution.
(3) Q.157 (the animal on the insignia of the Reserve Bank of India), the correct option is “(b) Tiger” and not “(d) Panther” as given.
(4) Q. 169 (system of Panchayati Raj) - There is no Panchayat at the state level. The three-tier system of Panchayats are at the village level, the intermediate (block) level and at the district level only. So the correct option should be “(a) the village, block and district” and not “(c) The village, district and state levels” as given.
In a competitive exam even a single mark, or a half mark for that matter, defines the success or failure of a candidate. I, therefore, requests the Commission to make the necessary rectifications to the answers of the questions above.
