The Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) today conducted a prayer walk under the theme “Heal our Land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
The prayer walk was a stretch of 28 km starting from Kasha Touphe Peace Treaty Monolith at Botsa and Tseminyu Sub division boundary to Rengma-Lotha border, Wokha district boundary.
The council staff together with church workers and leaders of 21 churches along the NH-2 highway participated in the prayer walk.
Altogether around 300 persons took part in the prayer walk.
The event started with a prayer by Rev. Haiwalo Apon, Executive Secretary CRBC, who remarked “our land is spiritually sick and needs healing on various aspects of our community life.”
He mentioned that the purpose of this prayer walk is not to demonstrate but to acknowledge God’s Supremacy and Lordship over our lives so that we can humble ourselves and seek His face. Such that our people can turn from their wicked ways and allow God’s healing for restoration and revival in the community.
During the walk, mass prayers were conducted in all village junctions and at Tseminyu Town.
There were four key prayer points. Firstly, to ask for forgiveness for the personal and collective sins of the community so that the work of healing can begin in the community and, God’s protection be upon the people. The second prayer was for a separate Tseminyu district for the Rengma Tribe. They prayed for the approval of Tseminyu district at God’s appointed time, likewise they also prayed that God will grant wisdom to the present government so that the right decision can be taken in fairness to the Rengma Tribe.
Thirdly, with the newly built highway NH-2 to Wokha-Mokokchung, they prayed for the safety of all travellers passing by Rengma Tribe Land in Tseminyu Subdivision. Lastly, they prayed for the destruction of all demonic strongholds that could lead the people astray for God’s path.
The walk, which began at 6 am, ended at 3 pm at Rengma-Lotha border, Wokha district boundary.
The Council thanked God and all participating churches for their hospitality and contribution in prayer through this walk.
