Barely 9 days after crossing the 7000 mark on October 11, COVID-19 caseload in Nagaland breached 8000 mark on Tuesday.

67 new COVID-19 cases were registered on October 20, taking the State’s tally to 8020.

Dimapur had 38 new cases while Kohima had 13, Tuensang had 11 and Mon registered 5 cases respectively, according to State Health and Family welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom.

Meanwhile, 60 recoveries were reported on Tuesday with 27 in Tuensang, 13 each in Mon and Kohima and 7 in Dimapur.

Accordingly, out of 8020, the State has reported 6227 recoveries and there are the active 1657 active cases. 

The State has also registered 22 deaths, out of which 14 are designated as COVID-19 deaths while 6 ‘deaths are Covid-19 positive but not due to Covid-19’ and 1 death is under investigation. 

66 cases have ‘migrated’ from the State.
