COVID-19: KDTF ramps up preparedness

Kohima, March 12 (MExN): The Kohima District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19 today held a discussion on various issues pertaining to the preparedness level and present scarcity of surgical masks and hand sanitizer in the district.

 


A DIPR report stated that during the review meeting held in the Deputy Commissioner Office Chamber, Kohima on March 12 under the chairmanship of DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, the house decided to take up several steps for preparedness.

 


It reiterated the restriction of domestic and foreign tourists in the district to a higher level. It further asked concerned departments to facilitate the identified isolation wards with minimum required facilities. 

 


The KDTF will also inspect the identified hospitals for isolation wards, which include Naga hospital authority Kohima (NHAK), Chedema Ayush Hospital, Jakhama Hospital and TB Hospital Khuzama and check the availability of basic requirement facilities put in place 

 


It was further decided to create more awareness on the Health Ministry’s and the WHO’s advisory on hand hygiene and others through hoardings and All India Radio, Kohima besides other print and electronic media.

 


The Kohima DC meanwhile informed that the district surveillance team has been closely monitoring travelers who have been advised 14 days home isolation and observation for 28 days. He said that majority of them have completed their isolation and observation periods with no suspected or confirmed cases reported till date.
