COVID-19: Organisations, VCs and others issue guidelines across Nagaland

Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): With the Government of India imposing a 21-day lockdown since March 25, various organisations, councils and others across Nagaland have issued their own preventive and precautionary measures, besides appealing for adhering to those given by the various government agencies.

 

Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC): For the safety of the general public, CVC has imposed the following directives for strict compliance under its jurisdiction as per a press release issued by its Chairman, Razouvotuo Chatsu.

1.     Any returning person from outside the state are directed to self quarantine for at least 14 days and remain isolated from the family members and their whereabout should be informed  CVC, Chief Medical Office or Colony/ward leaders.

2.    Visitors/outsiders are totally banned from entering Chümoukedima Village Jurisdiction. Any individual wanting to enter the village must seek prior permission from the CVC. The Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) has been tasked to strictly monitor all entry and exit points.

3.     Family members are directed to stay in unless for basic necessity and medical emergency.

4.     Shop owners are directed to wear mask and wash hands with soap or use hand sanitizer.

5.     Residents are directed not to loiter around in the village.

6.     Any person after buying essential commodities should leave immediately and make way for others customers.

7.    All meetings/functions/ public gathering henceforth are strictly prohibited and halting for non-essentials at any places/shops/centre is prohibited.


DEEHA’s Joint Council Forum: The Joint Council Forum of Duhagoon, Ekaranipathar, Eralibill, K. Hollohon Colony and Aoyimti Villages (DEEHA) have resolved to impose some following  restrictions under its jurisdiction.

1.     Public are hereby directed to stay at home and not move out except for purchase of essential commodities and medical exigencies. 

2.     Only one person from a family will be permitted/allowed to go out for such  tasks. 

3.     All vehicular movement of non-essential nature is prohibited under its jurisdiction. 

4.     Outsiders are not allowed to enter, unless special permission is avail from the concern Village Council. 

5.    Any students, workers, businessmen etc coming home from outside Dimapur are directed to remain in self isolation (Quarantine) for 15 days. Prior information should be given to the office about their arrival. 

6.     Public gathering is banned under DEEHA. 

7.     Any person/group not adhering to the order shall be deemed to have committed an offence and will be dealt with stringent penalty.

 

Wozhuro Range Students Union (WRSU): The WRSU has passed following resolutions in view of the COVID -19.

 •     Visitors and people having a travel history from other or within the country without proper authentic clearance record from any authority are banned from entering its jurisdiction . 

•     Movements for basic essentials like Groceries and medical will be exempted.

•     Expressed dismay over drastic increase in hunting after lockdown by the government and strongly endorsed   Wozhuro Range Public Organization’s decision on March 24 to ban hunting and poaching.

• Taking serious note, unnecessary public movements, hunting, poaching and picnicking within its Jurisdiction is prohibited untill further notice.

•  To closely co-ordinate and monitor with all the concern Village authorities and necessary agencies to curb defaulters to ensure legal course of action through concern agencies.

 

Khonoma Youth Organization: The KYO has informed that following decisions have been adopted in view of COVID-19 pandemic. 

•     Entry to and exit from Khonoma restricted from March 26

•    Restriction is for everyone alike whether or not of Khonoma.

•     Medical emergencies, funerals, state government officials and security personnels on duty will be exempted

•     Measures are being initiated to home quarantine its citizens arriving from outside Nagaland from their studies and other purposes with specific government and health expert instructions and advice.

ERVCU: The Englan Range Village Council Union (ERVCU) has informed that public entry within Englan Range jurisdiction from March 27, till further notice. In any kind of emergency entry one may further contact their respective village council for permission, informed a press note ERVCU. Any individuals found violating this information will be strictly dealt and book under the law, it added.
