
Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): Nagaland registered 59 fresh COVID-19 cases against a total of 78 single-day recoveries on Tuesday.
According to the health department’s daily bulletin, the state also reported one more fatality in Dimapur district, pushing the death toll to 743.
Out of the new cases, 47 were detected in Dimapur, eight in Kohima and four in Mokokchung. At least 38 of the cases were detected through self tests and random testing and 19 from returnees and travellers while there were one case each from armed forces/security personnel and frontline workers.
With this the cumulative tally of infections in the state rose to 34,986 out of which 668 are active cases. A total of 32,119 patients have recuperated from the virus including 78 in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin stated.
