COVID recoveries surpass new cases in Nagaland

Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): Nagaland again reported more single-day recoveries than new COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the number of active cases to 230. The downward trend in new cases has been continuing since February 2. According to the daily health bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, six new cases were reported during self tests and random testing, out of which three were from Dimapur, two from Mokokchung, and one from Peren district. A total of 40 patients recovered from the infection on Monday, taking the tally of recovered cases to 32,904. Dimapur saw the highest single-day recovery of 21 cases, Kohima 11, Phek 3, while two patients each from Tuensang and Wokha and one from Mokokchung also recovered.  The COVID death toll meanwhile remained at 749 as no fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours. The cumulative tally of infections in the state is now at 35,363 while 1,476 patients have migrated from the state.
