DIMAPUR, MAY 6 (MExN): The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has questioned why the government did not invite most of the Naga tribe organizations from Dimapur for the May 6 meeting at the Dimapur DC’s conference hall.
The meeting was reportedly called to discuss issues relating to the people of Nagaland intending to come to the state from outside the state post lockdown. It was chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen.
A press release from the CPO President, Vichütuolie Mere and General Secretary, Mhiesisato Vüprü said that “not only the CPO is sidelined but none of the Naga tribe organisations in the district were called for this very crucial meeting.” Out of the 15 organisations invited, “only 3 are of Naga organisations in Dimapur town,” it added.
The CPO questioned whether the government will take decisions through these organisations “to decide for our people who are intending to come home after the lockdown?” It further asked if the government can “handle the problems without the involvement of the indigenous inhabitants of the district.”
The CPO urged the government to coordinate with the apex bodies within the district for containment of any problem.
