The Chakhesang Morung was pleasantly surprised when his Excellency, the Governor of Nagaland with the Chief Minister and his entourage stopped by for lunch. The dignitaries were seen enjoying indigenous Chakhesang cuisine which included river fish, snails, wood beetle larvae, hornet larvae, frogs and crab. The Governor was seen particularly enjoying the crab; he even sent one of his men back to get ‘packed crab’, probably to enjoy more of the delicacy at the Raj Bhavan!
The president of the Phekmi Welfare Union, Salie Khesoh speaking to this reporter said that, they were extremely honored with the visit of the VIPs. He only hoped that the dignitaries had enjoyed the best that the Morung had to offer. Interestingly, the Chakhesang Morung is providing various delicacies free of cost. They have however put up a box for those who wish to donate ‘free will’ after enjoying the food.
