Officials and participants of teacher’s orientation programme in Kohima on August 7.

Kohima, August 8 (MExN): The Carl Rogers Institute of Mental Health and Research Center (CRIMHRC) Kohima, in partnership with Trinity School Kohima, hosted a teacher’s orientation that delved into the profound impact of Carl Rogers’ person-centered approach on the student-teacher relationship
It was held today at Trinity School Kohima on the theme “Access to Services-Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.”
The session underscored the foundational principles of Rogers’ theory, emphasizing how educators can create a truly supportive and nurturing learning environment through core factors like empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence.
By focusing on these elements, the workshop highlighted the importance of teachers understanding students’ perspectives, accepting them without judgment, and being genuine and authentic in their interactions.
This unique approach, pioneered by the institute, aims to equip teachers with the skills to foster a classroom atmosphere that not only facilitates academic growth but also promotes students’ emotional well-being and self-discovery.
