CRSU condemns unauthorised election slogans

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): The Chukitong Range Students Union (CRSU) has condemned the “dramatic act” committed by certain vested interest individuals who had erected billboards and banners in the name of CRSU and its affiliated village units without the official consent.

“The Union is anguished to learn that some volunteers engaged in putting up unauthorised election slogans were paid to do the same,” stated a press release issued by CRSU President Bipenthung Ngullie and General Secretary, Yantsow N Ezung

The CRSU has clarified that the union will support any constructive activities for the upliftment of the students’ community and the public in general but not in the manner such “as displayed with an ulterior motive.”

Further, the CRSU has no objection in removing the billboards and banners as it was put up coinciding with the historic celebration day of a particular clan in the community which has deeply hurt the sentiments of the clan members.

Therefore, the CRSU has cautioned that “any individuals fomenting trouble in social media by spreading false information shall be held responsible for inciting trouble in its jurisdiction.”
