Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) as precautionary measure against the COVID-19, appealed to the general public and concerned authorities to set-up emergency screening system in all the state entry points and to stockpile and provide basic preventive components to the public at the right prices.
NAYO President Roko Angami and General Secretary Ruokuoneitso Kire in a press release appealed to prepare sufficient isolation beds and quarantine facility in every Government district hospitals and take stringent precautionary discipline at public work places.
It also requested to impose restrictions on incoming travellers and careful monitoring system at state entry points and to discourage social/cultural gathering, academic, seminar and sports activity.
The NAYO also urged the concerned individual and authorities to expatiate in preventing the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus in our land.
Install thermal screening for train passengers: CNSA
While appreciating the state government’s precautionary measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Naga Students Association (CNSA) has appealed for thermal screening for passengers commuting from trains. Stating that the inflow of passengers is more in the railway stations, the CNSA urged the government to look into the matter at the earliest.
It also appealed to ensure sufficiency of hand sanitizes and other essentials in all the government school and colleges for the safety of students as well as the public in general. CNSA also appealed to the state government to cancel the trade license of all those medical agencies taking advantage of the situation by selling sanitizers and masks at higher rates.
