CSU leader vow to work with commitment

Thupukutho Lohe, Son of Vamu Lohe, 28-years-old from Yoruba Village under Phek district has been elected as the new president of Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) for the tenure 2012-2014 during the CSU 65th general conference held at Lozaphuhu Village on January 18.

Sharing about his priority as president of the students’ apex organization, Lohe revealed that “initiating things from the grass root level will be my priority” with special focus in most backward areas. With past experiences as leader of students organization, Lohe said: “…as practically experienced with the conditions of people of Tizu area, where I have toured as part of the CSU team, I really felt the need to contribute towards the improvement of the area.” Lohe said, with sincerity and honesty, “I along with my team would pressurized the government for the improvement of educational institution set up and in the meantime emphasizing on quality education at the grass root level would be our prior task.”

In connection with the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Lohe said: “My team in consultation with the seniors and the community would render our fullest cooperation to NSF in mater of Naga community interest.”

He however, made his humble appeal to the NSF to give equal opportunity to all its federating units with special attention to the weaker section of the people so to as reached out all Naga inhabited territory with justice and brotherhood warmth.  While expressing his desire to move up to a higher level with the advancement of science and technology in the global context, he urged the NSF to pursue things with wider and broader scope rather than narrowing down. NSF being an apex intellectual organization, it should never hesitate to initiate anything which were meant for the Naga general interest even at the cost of lives, Lohe maintained and added that CSU shall always stand strong behind.

Commenting of the “backward” tag, Lohe said: “…to remove backward tag blanket is never a community issue; however, it has to start from the grass root level where every individual has to shoulder the same as individual responsibility.” He said that backwardness never simply confine with lack of literacy, it covers the whole aspects of humanity and thus, students, businessmen, farmers, politicians, bureaucrats etc has the equal responsibility to motivate themselves with our forefathers’ culture, “hard work, dedication, honesty, bravery” etc.

Lohe also expressed that it is high time for the Chakhesang to prepare to line up at par with others. He appreciated the outgoing team headed by Esther Rhakho, for the commendable deeds carried out during the tenure. He further urged the seniors and leaders of the community to support and cooperate with the same spirit. 

On issues of bogus teacher appointment and corruptions in different areas, Lohe said: “…we will never provide any space for the bogus and above all corruption in any forms shall have no rooms. My team as part of re-affirming the stand of the Union would continue to oppose all forms of injustice, corruptions initiated by whatsoever department/agencies/organization which intend to hamper the interest of the community.”
