A book titled 'Daily Grace' authored by A Lumtsala Sangtam was launched by President of Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) R Tsapikiu Sangtam, here this afternoon at Room 03, Kuda B.

The book is a mixture of everything the young author has been through in life. It is a list of lessons that God has taught her till today. She said that “God teaches us a lot of lessons every single day, that there is always something in everyday for us to learn.” And that is how she began her “penful” journey of writing. The book lists 100 lessons she learnt through her everyday experiences.

Delighted to be a part of this journey, Dr Lanusangla Tzudir, Publisher & Chief Editor Heritage Publishing House said that ten years back, young people were not so brave to write about life, but now the scene has changed. Stating that “all of us are story tellers,” she encouraged the gathering of young people to write more about ‘our own stories,’ whether it’s in a novel form or a book of poetry, or daily thoughts like ‘Daily Grace.’ Dr Tzudir said that in this way, “we are doing a community responsibility. Because when we write about ourselves or an individual story, we write about the aspirations, visions and the issues of the community.”

In the Naga context, she stated that writing begins with ‘others writing about ourselves.’ “And till today, we are trying to deconstruct and reconstruct those writings in our own context. And so, we have to take it as our responsibility to write and write, because if we don’t write, our stories will just go into oblivion,” she added.

As a publisher, she encouraged all to continue to read and write, and that she was happy to see more parents trying to cultivate the art of reading, and reading culture picking up in the community. She further urged young writers to encourage one another and to develop a community of writers and readers.

A review on the book was given by another young author Chumroba J Sangtam, who has recently launched his debut book ‘Hayseed Boy.’ Sangtam appreciated the author “for her beautiful thoughts through her writings.” He said that the book talks about hope, positivity and lessons about life. He also said that the book teaches one to be thankful in every moment of life. “It is kind of a self-help novel that will change your life for the better,” he added.

He said that every page talks about God through her experiences, and that the book being ‘God-centric’ brings out its beauty. "This book has taught me that when you are with Jesus, everything becomes beautiful and worthy. If you want to get closer to God, this book will definitely help you," added Sangtam.

Launching the book, President of ENPO, R Tsapikiu Sangtam said that he was delighted to see a person from his village coming to this extent of expressing firm thinking and some kind of a teaching through her writings. Reiterating that we always read the writings of others, he said that he was heartened to see many young writes in the society. Congratulating the author on this feat, he hoped that she will continue to “come up with more writings under God’s grace which will change the society.”

The author acknowledged Heritage Publishing House, all her family and friends for all the help, without whom this book would not have been possible. She further thanked ‘God who made everything possible.’ “If this book helps you in any way, if it encourages you in some way, then just know that the purpose of this book gets fulfilled,” she added.

The event was hosted by Khuli Thonger, while the book was dedicated by Rev Thridong, Pastor SBLD. The book priced at Rs 250 will be available in local book stores and cafes. The author hails from Phelungre village of Kiphire district. She completed her graduation in B.Tech (Civil) from Mewar University, Rajasthan in 2018, and is currently preparing for her competitive exams.
