The first sub-divisional level Dak Community Development Programme (DCDP) meet in Nagaland was held by Kohima Sub-division at Kigwema Village Council Hall on September 29. 

Kevikhrielie Kirha, Inspector of Posts Mokokchung Sub-Division in his speech said DCDP is a new approach of the Department of Posts to raise awareness about DOP’s new services, consolidate central and state government information and services, expand customer enrollment for government schemes involving local state government officials in planning and execution, establish a common branding, execution strategy, communication plan and KPIs and prioritize advanced planning, data sharing and stakeholder participation for a larger goal of community development.

Inspector or Post, Kohima subdivision, Rajani Jha briefly highlighted the importance financial products of the department of Posts including Speed Post and PLI/RPLI and their advantages.

Appealing to the villagers to open IPPB Premium accounts, I Moala Ao, Sr Manager, IPPB, Kohima Branch said, they can avail various services such as PMJJBY and accidental insurance, CELC etc under this.

CDPO, Jakhama Block, Zubemo Jami also urged the citizens to open accounts in the Post Office stating that it is very convenient to open an account in a Post Office even if a person is residing in a village. 

Highlighting on the important welfare schemes of the Department of Social Welfare such as PMMVY, Poshan, etc, Jami said these can be directly transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT. 

A short speech on behalf of the Village Council, Kigwema was delivered by Neisakolie Mera, GB, Kigwema Village.

The programme was organised in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and NSRLM. About 135 individuals attended the programme.
