Peren, September 16 (MExN): The Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) under the initiative of children’s parliament conducted district level consultative workshop at All Saint Hr Sec School (ASHSS), Peren town on September 14.


A press release received here stated that Rev. Fr. Charles, Director, DAN urged the young students to be more effective as every individual represents the adult society and the task to propagate and promote the social norms and ideals all the time. 


Vikhuli Achumi, Programme Manager of children’s parliament, DAN shared on the concept of children’s parliament initiative in Nagaland and the activities and the strategy under children’s parliament initiative. 


Rahul Mali IAS &SDO (Civil) Peren Town in his speech stated that democracy is the basic and essential thing for every individual. He cited that in today’s scenario the parliament and the system of India is becoming powerful like those of the other developed countries and supplemented it with examples. He enlightened the children of the basic functions of the Lok and the Rajya Sabha. 


Rahul further encouraged the children by giving the example of our former President Abdul Kalam by stating  that children are the future for tomorrow and said that he foresee many future leaders present in the mist with the initiative of children’s parliament. 


Rev Fr. Joe, Principal in his exhortation reflected about the quality education and the right way and techniques to be initiated by the schools authorities, parents etc. for the proper guidance of the children.


The workshop was attended by the administrator and faculties of All Saints Hr. Sec. School, Peren, women society, church leaders led by the pastor, student bodies and other community leaders.
