DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): The Mezoma Mechü Kehou (MMK) has submitted a representation to the Nagaland Governor rejecting the resolutions reportedly adopted during a “confidential” closed door meeting held on November 6, 2020 at Dr Imkongliba Hall, Raj Bhavan which reviewed the Dansiripar-Zubza railway project.
The representation appended by MMK Vice President, Kezhalelie Miasalhou and General Secretary, Khrielievi Chüsi said that the meeting was held with regard to the “Sirhima village imbroglio owing to the claim against original land affected owners in the scheme of the beneficiaries over the railway line.”
The MMK stated that the meeting “excluded the original land owners which has negated and undermined and also defeated the very purpose of the meeting itself.”
“We have obtained all the information about the so called ‘confidential’ closed door meeting minutes and resolution which is surprisingly one sided, insensitive and inconsiderate against the original land owners,” it claimed. It further alleged that Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soudararajan, IAS had also “nullified in his determination gave a detailed report as against the DCs before him and the original land owners except justifications of legal position and Village Council Acts.”
It further claimed that during the meeting, claims were made of the NSCN (IM) issuing threats. To this, the MKK stated that “such unsubstantiated allegation against us is damning and offensive. We cannot be responsible for any such claims.”
It meanwhile stated that “our traditional and historical right can never be snatched at whims under any circumstances.” “We are surprised as to how the highest office in the form of the state Governor and his office could condone to such a blatant disregard to the sensitive matter who is supposed to be discharging his Constitutional duty,” the MKK added.
With the matter being sub-judice, the MKK urged the Court to “take cognizance of the issue and take all necessary measures to rectify or nullify the said resolution which was settled and circulated on November 6, 2020.”
