MLA Khriehu Liezietsu today inaugurated the newly constructed Dapfhütsumia Khel Indoor Stadium at D Khel Ground, Kohima village.
With this, the construction of four indoor stadiums for all four khels of Kohima village have been accomplished through the initiative of Khriehu Liezietsu and funded by Youth Resources & Sports department.
Dapfhiitsumia Khel Indoor Stadium was executed by Pele Khezhie at the cost of Rs. 1.5 crore.
Expressing happiness over the completion of this indoor stadium, Liezietsu called upon the people to make the best use of the same and take care as their own property.
He was optimistic that the newly created facility would produce a good number of sportspersons in the coming days.
Liezietsu also called upon the youth to choose the right discipline of sports and also take sports as a profession. One has to be dedicated, punctual and need to go for formal trainings to become a good sportsperson, he said.
There is not shortcut towards success, he said and called upon the sports lovers to struggle and work hard to excel in the field of games and sports.
He also urged the D. Khel Council and youth organization to initiate coaching camp on table tennis and badminton to groom the local talents.
Further, Liezietsu was hopeful that this indoor stadium will bring the people closer and enhance the spirit of oneness and better understanding among the community.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kelhouphilie Kire, chairman D. Khel Council while Building Committee banker Robert Kire briefed the construction report.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Keneizezo Yiese, vice chairman D.Khel Council.
