KOHIMA, JULY 22 (MExN): Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) Kohima held its 13th annual science and arts exhibition on July 22 at school premises. 

Kovi Meyase NCS, Director, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship inaugurated the exhibition fair and went around the stalls and interacted with the students and inquired about their models. 

On this occasion, he quoted Nelson Mandela, saying “The collapse of education is the collapse of the Nation” He added that, in Nagaland there are seventy thousand registered unemployed people and the unemployment ratio of Nagaland is 9.1% and it is in the 4th position in India. It is alarming; our state is having highest literacy rate and unemployment rate, he said. 

He the enumerated various reasons for the increase in the unemployment and suggested not to prefer government jobs only, to promote entrepreneur skills among students, seek jobs in private sector, get into blue color jobs, finding jobs outside the state, to tap the opportunities wherever they are.

He further encouraged them to be skilled and urged the students, to be humble, God fearing and exemplary citizens. He said that the main objective of the exhibition was to skill children for future jobs. He appreciated the students, teachers and parents for making the exhibition a success.  

The students displayed their projects and put up interesting models in various fields. Principal, Fr TP James, Fr Varghese PJ, Fr Christudoss, Fr Suresh, Linus, and others were also present.
