The Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Kohima organized its annual science and arts exhibition-2022 at DBHSS Conference Hall, Kohima on September 24.
Anoop Khinchi, IAS, Director Census Operations/Citizen Registration, Nagaland, graced the event as the special guest. Speaking on the occasion, Khinchi encouraged students to develop passion and learn through the demos and models that illustrate various scientific equipment and experiments during the exhibition.
He also called upon the students to stay away from tobacco and harmful substances and take a pledge “Say no to tobacco” as its effect one health.
Fr TP James, Principal, DBHSSK described the science and art exhibition as an important tool that engages students in learning new facts.
He also said it provides the platform for the students to use their scientific knowledge and allows the students to work together in groups and learn from each other.
Bharat Prasad said that Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima considers science exhibition as one of the most important events.
During the exhibition, children learn better by doing, rather than listening to lectures, he said.
It also develops better ways of learning by doing things together as teamwork and solving challenging problems, he added.
The key objective is to offer opportunities to students to display their talents, curiosity and widen their horizon on the subjects, he said.
The exhibits showcased various tribes of Naga indigenous ornaments, traditional attire of various tribes, handicraft, photography, art, herbal plants, scientific process etc.
Earlier, the program was led by Dupralü Rhakho while Thejalhounuo Edna read out scripture from the Bible.
Fr PJ Varghese, Spiritual Minister, Don Bosco College Kohima invoked God's blessing.
