DC Dimapur, others assist stranded passengers

Dimapur, December 12 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur along with Dimapur Municipal Council, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Hindu Seva Samitti and Bharat Sevashram Sangha visited Dimapur Railway Station on December 12 to meet stranded passengers.

Passengers of Kamrup Express coming from Howrah to Dibrugarh are stuck in Dimapur Railway Station due to ongoing law and order situation in Assam, a DIPR report informed.

The DC and the representatives of other organizations had an interaction with fellow passengers and he also advised the station Manager and other officials at the station to take care of all the passengers in the best possible manner, the report said.  Meanwhile, the DMC provided water and biscuits to the passengers while Bharat Sevashram Sangh, Dimapur provided dinner to all the passengers on Wednesday.

On December 13, DMC, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Hindu Seva Samitii have assured them that they would provide breakfast and lunch. Hindu Seva Samitti has arranged blankets for the needy passengers.
