Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): A two-day assessment camp for free distribution of various aids and assistive devices (wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, blind sticks etc) to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) began today at DDRC, District Hospital, Dimapur.

 
The camp is being organized by the ALIMCO, Guwahati under their CSR programme sponsored by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited through the office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Nagaland, the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and DDRC (District Disability Rehabilitation Center), District Hospital, Dimapur. 


On the first day, 92 PwDs were assessed and registered, said a press release from Dr Imlitemsu Ozukum, MD (PMR), in-charge DDRC, District Hospital, Dimapur.


Informing that the camp will conclude on February 22, Dr Ozukum has informed PwDs from various parts of Dimapur to avail the opportunity.


He informed that the PwDs attending the camp should bring the following documents: Disability Certificate (if available), Adhaar Card or Voters’ ID or Ration Card or Permanent Residence Certificate from colony chairman, Income Certificate below Rs 15,000 per month (original) from district administration officials or from village/colony Chairman, passport size photo.


Dr Ozukum further said that those PwDs who are registered during this camp will avail the assistive devices at a later date which will be announced.
