Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): The opening ceremony of December Fest 2019 was held at DDSC, Dimapur with ADC Dimapur V Lovitoly Sema as special guest on December 16.
December Fest is organised by The Better Dimapur Team in collaboration with Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Naga Council Dimapur, GBs Union Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Council chairman Federation (DUCCF) Naga Women Hoho and Dimapur Naga Students Union.
Speaking on the occasion, a DIPR report stated that the ADC appreciated the organizing team for providing platform for everyone to showcase their talents, participate and also to come together and enjoy the spirit of the season. She encouraged the young entrepreneurs and young talented artists to avail the opportunity to showcase the talent and also in enhancement of the economic standard of the society. Also encouraging the participants she said, “It’s not about winning or losing it’s about coming together and participating that matters.”
Administrator, DMC Albert Ezung in his keynote address said that December Fest has been conceptualized and organized for ensuring people’s participation and community involvement and a view to give platform to various areas to build friendship, to interact and to move forward together.
Earlier, the programme was invoked by Robert Kikon, Pastor, Father's House Church. Other highlights of the programme were lighting and oath taking ceremony, special song by The Maple Tree School (winner of choir competition, December Fest 2018) and special presentation by Star Excellence Kindergarten. The programme was chaired by Bobita Rai.
The closing ceremony will be held at DDSC Dimapur on December 17 at 5:00 pm with Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-ll Aotula, IPS as special guest. Other highlights include declaration of cleanest colony competition award, dance presentation by Trionix Dance Studio, musical presentation by Abdon Mech, Meribeni Patton and Bovito Swu.
